Table lamps
A table lamp does two jobs at once: it lights a corner and gives it a focal point, even when switched off. This collection of vintage Danish table lamps brings together two very different materials from two leading Danish manufacturers – glazed stoneware from Søholm on Bornholm and blown glass from the Holmegaard glassworks.
The stoneware lamps date from the 1960s and 1970s. Einar Johansen's Model 1072 is offered here in three crackle glazes – yellow, red and cobalt blue – while Haico Nitzsche's Lilia 1221 comes as a matching pair, ready to frame a sofa or a bed. Heavy and earthy, the stoneware bases suit a sideboard, a desk or a bedside table.
The glass lamps come from Holmegaard in the 1980s. Michael Bang's Sakura lamps glow in soft pink or in white with a black swirl, and Sidse Werner's Apotheker lamps in black glass are sold as a set of two. Switched on, the glass diffuses the light evenly; switched off, the lamps still read as objects in their own right.
